Palestine Economic Development Corporation is a Type B Texas economic development corporation established under the Development Corporation Act of 1979. Currently our division is funded by ¼ cent sales tax revenue. Our primary mission is to provide the City of Palestine with the jobs and commerce to support a successful career and lifestyle. Our department, within the city of Palestine, oversees economic development, tourism, Historic Main Street, downtown commercial district, and Farmer’s Market. The PEDC Board, established by state law and appointed by the Mayor and City Council, provides governance and policy direction for economic development of Palestine, Texas.
