Healthcare Services

Healthcare Services is one of the fastest growing needs and industries in the United States, and Palestine is uniquely positioned to provide both high quality patient care and support for related businesses and entrepreneurial thinking.

For over 60 years, the citizens of Anderson and surrounding counties have depended on the Palestine Regional Medical Center and the Palestine Regional Rehabilitation Hospital.

Serving approximately 100,000 people, PRMC provides 150 beds with highly skilled staff of healthcare professionals.

A full range of comprehensive care is offered including the latest in diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Over 500 employees and volunteers work closely with the medical staff, which includes over 70 physicians representing 28 different medical specialties.

The City of Palestine is also home to CHRISTUS Health, the international Catholic non-profit health system, which joined with Magnolia Health Systems – East Texas in 2017, utilizing the resources of both CHRISTUS Health and CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Along with full-time orthopedic surgery and pain management, the clinic also offers specialty services including cardiology, pulmonary, gastroenterology, and wound care through visiting CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic

In 2024, CHRISTUS announced an expansion to Palestine with the planned development of a new CHRISTUS emergency hospital campus that includes a freestanding emergency department and inpatient beds.

The Palestine project includes a nearly 20,000 square-foot facility that will house a state-of-the art emergency department with imaging and laboratory services. The new emergency room will accept ambulance arrivals.

The development will provide the community with 40 full-time jobs which include registered nurses, radiology and laboratory technologists and several other support staff positions and has a completion goal of Summer 2025.
