City to use block grant for sidewalk improvements

The city of Palestine will use a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for sidewalk and ADA improvements for W. Main St. and Tennessee Avenue. The grant was recently received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Texas Department of Agriculture and the project will be conducted as part of the city’s Downtown Revitalization Project.
John Besteiro of Traylor and Associates Incorporated presented the information about the grant to the council during Monday’s meeting.
