McCarthy is Hiring for the Skull Creek Solar Project

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is participating in the June 18 career fair and hosting the June 30 event. The company is currently hiring for the Skull Creek Solar project, which is expected to create approximately 90 employment opportunities during construction and operations. These positions will range from technical solar panel maintenance roles to support positions to help keep the plant online.
The Skull Creek Solar project is a partnership between Meta and developer Zelestra to build an 850-acre solar facility in the region.
The project will generate 176 megawatts of renewable energy capacity, contributing to Texas’s growing energy infrastructure and supporting continued economic growth in the region.
Construction on the Skull Creek Solar project is about to begin, which is why McCarthy Building Companies is hosting these hiring events. The company plans to have a strong team to work with as soon as the organization is ready to break ground.

“Economic development is about creating opportunities for our residents and businesses to grow,” says Christophe Trahan, Economic Development Director of the Palestine Economic Development Corporation (PEDC). “Projects like Skull Creek Solar are opportunities for our community to directly benefit from energy investments that we are seeing take place nationwide. The role of the PEDC in the midst of that opportunity is to foster strong partnerships between industry, workforce organizations, and our community.”
New job options allow residents to grow their incomes and improve their quality of life. New industries and job opportunities, such as the Skull Creek Solar project, can support Palestine residents and send ripple effects through the community.
