New team member brings a passion for community growth and will support PEDC’s workforce, business retention, and marketing programs.

Admire Joins PEDC to Support Key Growth Initiatives

The Palestine Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) is proud to welcome Mary Ann Admire as its new Business Intelligence and Marketing Analyst. In this role, Admire will support PEDC’s efforts to attract and retain businesses, promote workforce development, and tell the story of economic opportunity in Palestine and Anderson County.

Admire previously served as the Main Street Coordinator for the City of Palestine, where she led revitalization projects and worked closely with downtown business owners. Her transition to PEDC represents a natural progression in her dedication to local economic growth.

“My family has been in Anderson County for over 140 years, so this work is especially meaningful to me,” Admire said. “I’m proud to help support the businesses and people who continue to shape our community.”

Focused on Workforce Development and Business Retention

At PEDC, Admire will be deeply involved in key initiatives such as business retention and expansion (BR&E), workforce development planning, and marketing outreach to both existing and prospective employers. She’ll also manage data-driven strategies that highlight Palestine’s advantages for business growth.

“Our priorities are workforce development and BR&E,” Admire said. “I’m focused on strengthening community partnerships, expanding opportunities for our workforce, and helping existing businesses grow right here at home.”

Admire brings professional experience from both the public and private sectors. She has owned and operated a small business and worked in the architecture and engineering industry, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by a wide range of employers.

“Mary Ann is a great addition to the team,” said Christophe Trahan, Economic Development Director for the City of Palestine. “She brings not only a strong understanding of the local business landscape, but also a deep personal investment in this community.”

Committed to Community and Continued Learning

Admire plans to participate in economic development training this fall to stay current with trends and best practices in the industry. She believes ongoing professional development is essential to PEDC’s evolving goals.

Outside of her work at PEDC, Admire serves on the Anderson County Child Welfare Board and supports community organizations such as the Curious Museum and the Railroad Heritage Center, which contribute to quality of life and local pride.

“It’s incredibly fulfilling to support people who are building something meaningful right here in Palestine,” Admire said. “Their success is the community’s success.”
